Definitely replace the units first and then the flooring before painting. You might want to do some research on DIY jobs... the units, hire someone and have them tile the countertops. The rest of it you could easily do yourself.
I want to replace my current kitchen to something low-maintenance and feel like I’m going crazy because I want to get it done fast.
I’d like to remove the wallpaper (could either buy a wall stripper or hire someone to do a one-time job) and then paint it ‘candlelight’ (yellow), change the laminate floor with another, replace the units with a decent worktop and get a new or used hob & oven.
I don’t know in what order I should change things: wallpaper and then paint first? Units first and then flooring or vice versa?
I only have one wall unit 106cm x 59cm, a floor unit and sink unit both 105cm x 92cm. Do the new units have to be the same size? My kitchen is small 361cm x 231cm so I was thinking of getting the same number of unit and just add a shelf on the free wall instead of another unit.
As for costs. I know that ‘you get what you pay for’ but does £2,000 which might include everything sound decent? Is there a better strategy: buy everything myself and then hire the people to install everything? Or would it be better to arrange a collective job? I will try ratedpeople.com for the joiner, plumber and electrician and gumtree for the units and oven & hob.
Thank you for the help
