Would be better to just replace the drywall. Most of drywall strength is in the paper. That's why you don't want to break the paper when you put it on, just sink the head of the screw into the paper. You could put another layer of thin drywall over this one and reface it. I've done that a couple of times. You would have to deal with base boards and door jams but still may be easier than replacing. Good Luck!
I got a room completely torn of the the drywall facing. Is there any product I can by to put a new face onto it and paint over it when it drys? Thank you!
