Sorry to say grasshoppers are common in any wooden area but I would suggest doing activities with whoever you will be with and you won't even notice one if one happens to be near you I am from fort campbell and I rarely see them even when I go camping but then again I don't look for them best of luck to you

So, I'm going on a camping trip in eastern Tennessee in a few days and I'm curious if grasshoppers are very common around there. I have quite a phobia of them (pathetic, I know), and I just want to know before I get there what to expect, or if I need to get some kind of special bug spray. Any help is much appreciated.
