I recently bought a used car. The former owner was a smoker. I used Ozium Spray to get the smell out and it worked like a charm. You can purchase Ozium in an auto parts store. Best five bucks you'll ever spend on a deodorizer, I promise.

Hang it outside for a few days. Try Fabreze. Or scrub it with a powder cleanser like Capture and vacuum after 15 minutes.

You might have to hang it outside on a sunny day, or even drape it over an auto, out in the sun, for several hours. If all else fails, email the company you bought it from and ask their advice. Good luck!

I ordered a rug online, and I'm not a big fan of the smell. Honestly it's not that bad, but it would be better without it. I washed it and it didn't work. I also left it under a window for a few days.
