Ok Renee, Ivory walls are great to have especially when decorating with colors. Since colors can be changed out according to seasons or holidays to make fun. That being said, I would go with the colors you like the mint greens, beiges, browns/ tans, and turquois or pool blues. You can get material on sale that have different patterns with these colors . Easy to sew a rectangle for pillows or pillow cases. Placing them on your bed around the back wall area of the bed. Look for special prints to add interests like : your favorite animals whether it is dogs, cats, horses, flowers, hearts, boats, foods, shapes like circles, triangles or waves, ocean images or prints on material you can sew into pillows and add them among your solid colored pillows. Dollar stores have great looking frames you can print out pictures to fit those on your wall in a pattern of 3 or 4 . They may have mirror like frames you might like to place near the window on wall to help also reflect light from window into room. Pick up while your there some artificial flowers of 3 colors to add to your décor. Even though your like pastels a bit pop of one bright color like red or orange in the mix would be awesome in a vase or just laid on a book shelf or what ever you have in the room. You maybe able to pick up different textures for your room to add more interest like a bag of natural stones to place in a glass vase for your table or to go with flowers. Place a something like your favorite novel or stuffed animal or whatever it is on the bed. Make the room yours with your personality. If your musically gifted you can find things related to music to place on walls in a cool pattern and they too will reflect light or make a them into a wind chime to hand from window area. Don't forget a small candy dish filled with little treats for your room as well. Just use your imagination and hope that this all helps.
You need bedding and lighting.
For your bedding you can pick a mix of blue and white with the throw on the bottom of your bed. Use a brown bed skirt and lamps.
use light blue long drapes and some mirrors accross from your window. You can use brown wooden shades under the blue drapes.
enjoy decorating.
So I've had my room for a little over 2 years since we moved in. For that 2 years, I have had no idea what to do with my room. It looks so odd and childish and I hate it. I'm 14 years old but I pretty much have the maturity of a 15 year old because I started school a year early so most of my year is 15. I've asked this question before and every answer I got had a majority of it to do with painting my walls. So I just wanted to make it clear that I CANNOT PAINT MY WALLS!!!!!!!!!!!! We are renting our current house and the only colour we can have our walls is off-white and that's what mine are now. I love pastel colours such as mint but I'm wanting to go for more of a darker mint with not so much green such as duck egg blue. I love cool colours rather than warm colours. All my furniture is white and I have an ivory brown throw blanket that was expensive so I want my theme to match that colour a bit, so basically I want to be able to incorporate neutral tones into my room. Also my room is quite small and I want my room to be brighter with natural light but the only natural light I have is a small window that is right in front of a very close up tall fence.
The dimensions of my room are roughly 3.5 x 4.0 metres
Thanks so much- Renee xx
