Are you talking about floors or walls? A few months ago, I used grout-able vinyl tiles on my bathroom floor. Per instructions, I wash it only with water, no detergent. This is to keep it from getting slippery. I am very happy with the way it looks. I think it looks like real stone. You would have to remove the ceramic tiles and make sure your subfloor has no movement or the grout will crack.
I have ceramic tiles in my kitchen and bathrooms. While ceramic tiles look nice as long as they are clean, they are not easy to keep up with when it comes to cleaning them. I am noticing that my tiles easily get stained and they have started to stick to any dirt that falls on them.
My question is: What is the best alternative to ceramic tiles that requires minimal cleaning/maintenance other than casual brooming.
