Big black ants in bathroom?

Big black ants usually means carpenter ants and they make nests in tree stumps and in old wood. The nest is the source of the ants and spraying the nest will kill them.

If they are another kind of ant and likes sugar, Terro bait is good to put out. The ants will take the bait to the nest.

Call a pest control company if you want to get rid of them.

This will take care of them.

This spring we had an issue with big ants coming into our kitchen.

After spraying/sprinkling some ant killing chemicals outside they were gone and our home was ant-free for a few months.

However, just today I found several of them hanging around and within the toilet bowl. I don't know if it's a coincidence but I just cleaned the toilet bowl yesterday with a cleaner...but I've used the same cleaner before and this didn't happen...so I'm not sure of what to think about that.

Thankfully we have two bathrooms in our home so I can just avoid using this one while I try to get rid of these ants...but what are some effective ways to get rid of them for good???
