is your boss aware you have NO idea what your doing? Does your boss own the building or are you leasing it from another company? do you need any permits? is this a free standing structure or is it off in the corner where two walls are already built? do you have access to the electrical panel? most breakrooms have lights and a few basic plugs. If you want vending machines you need more than one breaker for the room. what about plumbing? How much weight does the ceiling need to support? a few guys is one thing but a few guys and storage is another issue. Especially when you are trying to span 16ft with basic lumber probably wont work unless you have support poles in the middle of the room. taking it down to 16x11 or so you could use floor joist or 2X8 in a 12ft length without pillars as long as the weight above isnt huge it will hold a few guys but probably not much more. You havent given any specs besides 256sf box for five guys to sit in..
My boss just agreed to pay for all the necessary supplies needed to build a 16x16 break room for us warehouse worker (5 in total) now I need to come up with a list of materials to get the job done. problem is I'm not a carpenter so I'm not sure of all the things I need. can u give me a idea or list of stuff I'd need to build the structure? Also the roof would have to be reinforced so multiple people can walk on it.
