This is why builders quote for a job before going ahead with it. They listen to what the home owner wants, takes measurements, draws up a rough sketch, has a guesstimate at the price of what is needed, then gives the estimate to the home owner.

so my parents want to build a new room in a two story house, but we don't know how much it is. so my house has 2 living rooms and above one of them is this big giant space where you build a room and how much is the permit. I know that the permit says that you have too have a closet built in, but how big does the closet have to be.
