If the village has mains water and drainage then yes you can be connected to it - but only your local water company can tell you how much because they will know where the nearest pipes to your house are and how far they will have to dig .
thats a funny set up ..usually if your remote you have no gas ..its very unusual to have no mains water ..i would not buy without a water check ...my son almost died once ..as a baby ..the water from the cottage where we were staying had copper elements in it ..you also need to check to ground subsoil ..you dont want clay with a septic tank ...so the big question is ..if im not sure about this property ..might other people not be sure when we sell it in a few years time ...i have lived by my motto ...if in doubt ..dont
My hubby and i are interested in a property. it has mains gas and electrciity supply but the drainage and water are private. I do not know if it is a well or spring for water supply but I know it is septic tank for drainage. It is not too far away from a little village and just a bit away from the main road. The septic tank idea is putting me off slightly and not having mains water is also a concern. Can anyone adivse and possible have a rough idea 'ball-part' figure of the cost to be connected to the mains water?
Thanks :)
