I think liquor cabinet is a good guess. Drawer for spoons and other drink "tools", cabinet for glasses or bottles. looks like a bottom shelf at the legs - maybe for larger bottles or decanters.

My dad was painting someone's house and saw this piece. He really liked it so he bought it even though we have no clue what it is. Since then we have asked around but no one seems to know for sure. The front is a door with a key hole and underneath is a drawer that pulls out. I'm thinking old liquor cabinet but no one can confirm. Any ideas?
