Although plugged in the toaster does not operate all the time. You press the switch to toast your bread and when it is done it pops up and the toaster stops heating. If it didn't the toast would burn and catch on fire within a very short space of time. Leaving the toast in the toaster will not cause any harm unless he switches it on again without removing the toast. An annoying habit though!
no because they are made to not get hot enough to catch on fire..the only thing that can catch on fire is if something happens with the outlet it is plugged in to..leaving toast in wont catch on fire....
if faulty they cause many fires especially if near curtains or under ledge
So my brother always leaves toast in the toaster and he forgets about it. Sometimes its more then 24 hours (and the socket is still on) but can toasters cause a fire?
