Can you put Oil Gloss over Latex (Waterbase) Undercoat?

Hi - I wouldn't recommend that - you would need an oil primer before putting your gloss on top.

Have a look here to see some info on it :)

For a primer - personally I don't think you can beat Zinsser Bullseye 123 or Zinsser Bin Primer - these are water based primers, stain concealers etc. But as you need an oil based primer I would recommend this one : You need the COVER STAIN one :)

Hope this helps :)

Hi there. Was wondering if you might help. I want to paint my Garage door. I understand I must rub it down good before applying any sort of paint. But in what order please?

I have Oil Metal Gloss (Dulux) which is the same colour as the garage door.

But what undercoat should I buy?

Shall I buy a Latex Undercoat or Oil base undercoat?

What would be the best option to get the job done quick?

Thanks
