Subletting can be a scam. Lots or people have been left with past due rent, telling the landlord you will be picking up the deposit payment, and the wrong lease timing. It is also a way for an unscrupulous landlord to play some schemes on you. I advise against subletting.

I'm new to craigslist and getting an apartment, but I saw a craigslist page about subletting an apartment that I really want to move into over the summer. I need a place and I have a job to pay the rent, but I'm --not sure what to say in an email to the poster--. They have pictures and a description of the place, and they left their email address, but I don't really know how this whole thing works, and I REALLY need to get this done ASAP so that I have somewhere to live this summer...
