Some designs are classic and never look outdated, others can look outdated in a surprisingly short time. Pots and pans are not something most people would consider a fashion item. You buy them because they work, not because they look cool, and anyone who has invested in good cookware is not likely to replace it to get something that merely looks better.
this is what happens: you buy a service for 12 and one day you notice there are three forks and six knives. you realize that your (spouse, roommate, friends, you) have all thrown the flatware in the trash or lost it at work. or ground them up in the garbage disposal.
i don't know why people throw silverware in the trash but it happens.
you buy a new service for 12.
if you buy a set of 12 of plain white dishes like these you will never tire of them. http://www.potterybarn.com/search/result... they always have open stock so easily replaced.
here is my pattern. it is 50 bucks a place setting at Macy. i buy a new place setting every year for the past twenty years, because (someone) threw it in the trash. grumble. http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/gorha...
I was wondering how long it takes for certain kitchen supplies to become outdated. If I buy plates or silverware, will they look outdated in 5-10 years? I'm just wondering how often companies change the design of their products. Thanks!
