I worked for ADT doing technical support for a couple of years. The advice that i gave my grandma just last week when she said kids have been shaking door knobs in the neighborhood is DO NOT GET AN ALARM SYSTEM. They are so prone to technical issues and false alarms, which cause false police and fire dispatch, which causes massive fines from the city.
I told my grandma to go to home depot or lowes... they have these door and window sensor alarms. They ahve magnetic strips that sound when the magnetic field is broken, and work exactly the same as an alarm system except theres no bull horn siren and it doesnt call the police, but it will most definetely scare off a burglar and alert you to trouble.
Security is a term which is very important to keep our house safe in daily life. However, stealing your home or any other insecurity depends upon the place where you are living. In case, if you are not feeling safe then you can get the alarm, the next option is to hire a guard for your home. you can see all detail from the given link.
Its better to install a security system, if you feel you are not safe enough. So, installing a burglar alarm is the best way to protect your home and family in the event of burglary.
Steal a house! That would be crazy!
Moving next door but one to the police department and wondering if it's worth spending money installing a burglar alarm (budget is very tight so I'd rather not spend if not essential) or should I assume nobody is stupid enough to steal a house that close to the cops?
It's also facing a main road with shops, cinemas and the like so a very busy road. The police is then to the left and they pass the front of the house all day long on their cars.
