Does mayonnaise kill ants?

The oil in the mayo more or less clogged them up, suffocated them.

The catch to the mayo: ants have to take the bait to their nest to kill the queen and a few thousand ants there. Maybe the mayo can be made in a different form.

Someone has a good point about preservatives. I can't eat them.

Was the knife washed? Did the ants just get glued to them and die?

Maybe your mayo contained strong chemicals/preservatives?

Or the ants surely stabbed themselves :P

Ok dirty knife poshed ani overload of fat cholesterol

Maybe they die of an overload of fat and Cholesterol, but die very happy.

ok soooo.... you left a f#@%ing dirty knife on the floor for several hours??????

I am wondering if mayonnaise kills ants. I dropped a knife used to spread mayo on the floor, and a few hours later, the knife had a couple dozen ants (the small kind) around the knife, dead. I can't find anything online about mayo being deadly to ants, so I'm wondering if I'm on the brink of a new discovery.

Regular Heinz Mayonnaise.
