try changing the position of the wires at the point of hook up.
I recently installed a ceiling fan with light in my master bedroom. There was previously no fixture outlet or box so I created one and also spliced into the wire from the wall switch that controls an outlet on the opposite side of the room. everything was capped and wires tested hot after spliced and connected to ceiling fan. However, the fan will not turn nor will the light turn on. The fan was tested in another room with existing fan and worked fine. Thanks for any help.
