Emulsion walls prior to papering?

It wont make any difference, I have emulsioned the walls for years in my house and now papered over it with no problems.

a waste of money to use paint. new plaster can be sized with weak paste much cheaper and as effectively

Well, if it were just plaster then it may draw moisture out of the paste before it has a chance to stick, so painting the wall seals the plaster. Also if the paper you choose is thin, it'll not need lining first! So no harm done.

Hi.

I've emulsioned my walls with macphearsons trade brilliant white emulsion prior to papering as I felt this will help the paper stick.

Please tell me this will help the paper stick? Not bothered if I've wasted my time.. Just worried that I may have done something I shouldn't?

I will be getting a professional decorator in to paper and thought id make the walls as nice as possible for him.

Thanks for the feedback appreciated
