Go to Humane Society and adopt a bunch of outside cats. Build a shelter for them and they will be glad to give you the tails. Make sure they are outside cats, it cruel to put a housecat out. Mine were born outside and live in my gazebo. I feed them, they take care of bunnies and squirrels. They get their shots yearly too. That is a pain but hey so are the squirrels.
poison bait. Any home improvement store has it.
Hi everyone. I'm over-run with tunneling ground squirrels. I had a few last year (we are in a new home on five acres) and now they are absolutely everywhere with so many holes the ground appears as though it could cave in - truly! They have not infiltrated our home yet, but are moving closer. I have read much on the net, but SO many articles stating there is nothing you can do to get rid of them. At this point, I'm not too interested in a humane "catch and relocate" approach. I have tried that, but there are simply too many, even for my cat who is an excellent hunter. I also have two dogs, but they are uninterested in the ground squirrels.
Has anyone had success with removing them and would you share?
Thanks.
