How do you make them understand? What negative affects/effects can it have on you?
Only with children, that thought to hang onto everything they had, no matter what, it was theirs, and theirs alone. Having to teach them that there isn't room to keep everything anymore that no longer serves a purpose, when adding items that do. Sharing what you no longer use into being recycled by someone else, or into something else. That someday might come back around to them, in a better way then it is now. As having to handle it with another adult, no..not so much that it is a problem, or causes a fight. I think if I did, and it just trash, then I would dispose of it on my own, or box up what you think is worth something, that might have meaning to that person, alone, and store it. Reminding that person that they are not the only person in the world that matters, there are a whole lot of other people living here too.
I am a half hoarder. I hate throwing things away but I do because I can't stand the mess at some point. But I have a real high tolerance for mess. For instance when I can't see the floor, I clean my bedroom. No fights, I live alone, simpler. You can't make me understand any other way, I can't make me understand any other way, weird but true. I watch the shows to make myself feel better.
How do you cope with it all? How do you cope with the fights?
