I found these sprouting up in my garden. The smaller one at the top of the photo is growing in small clusters very close to the ground. The larger one on the bottom is covering the most of our plot, with heights of up to 18 inches. The leaves and the stems of the one at the bottom are prickly.
Are these weeds? If so, how likely are they to choke out my other flowers? How do I get rid of them? If it helps, I am in growing zone 7(b).
