Make a non-toxic ant killer: Place LARGE bowl in kitchen sink. Pour 2 cups white vinegar, 2 tablespoons each baking soda and dishwashing liquid. Be prepared, as mixture will foam up and increase in volume. After mixture calms, pour into clean empty plastic spray bottle (you can find these at most dollar stores). The spray will kill them instantly. When you see one, spray. The residue from the spray will discourage additional ants from coming to the area. This works particularly well on wooden patio tables.
Of course, use diligence in keeping your home clean, particularly of food. Ants like sweet or greasy items.
Tansy an herb can get rid of them, also clean the area they are in with rubbing alcohol.
I have an ant problem in my house. Is there a natural way to kill them without pesticides? The strange thing with these ants, though, is that there's not a trail. There'll be groups of ants around the house, so I can't try corn meal.
