How does glass break?

There are a lot of reasons window glass can break, and the most common reason (outside a kid flinging a softball at it) is the house is settling and the pressure on the glass cracks or breaks it...particularly if it is old glass. There is a small possibility your drumming could affect the glass, but it is usually very high-pitched sounds that disrupt glass molecules, and drums are pretty low-pitched in comparison. Another possibility is a small earthquake, or blasting in the area could have affected the glass.

And, then there's the kid hiding behind the bushes hoping you'll never find the softball he inadvertently tossed in your house's direction.

I installed a reflective Glass window in My home twice and both times they cracked and had to be replaced within a few day's. Both times the window was facing South but a similar window facing West is still in place after 8 years . Never did get a satisfactory answer as these windows are installed in buildings all over North America.

Recently the glass in my house broke and shattered to pieces. I was overseas so when I came home it just appeared shattered. Since I play the drumset, I am wondering whether the loudness of the drums affected the glass, or is it because of heat or something like that. Help would be appreciated thanks.
