How should I frame this photo?

The purpose of the frame and mat are to enhance the picture. Not every picture needs a mat. The mat focuses the eye on the picture. It can fit an unusual size picture to a standard size frame, though part of the picture will be covered by the mat. A mat can also protect a picture by preventing it from touching a glass cover. The frame and mat should also fit into the decor of the room and fit the picture. Your Harley picture could go into a metal frame for an industrial look, or into a simple wood frame for a casual look.

You are going to have to shop locally if you want the picture framed in a week. Check out local art supply stores and hobby stores. However, most frames will be a standard size: http://www.picture-frame-it-yourself.com...

You can order online, but would have to pay more for expedited shipping. Sectional frame kits allow you to buy two sides of one length and two sides of another length. In your case you would buy two sets of 20" sides. The sections are connected at the corners with pins or brackets. http://www.amazon.com/Nielsen-Metal-Fram... I bought one of these in wood from Michaels, but that was a while back. These are only for the frames, so it's extra for the backing and glass. Take notes on prices for frames and mats for various standard, sectional, and custom frames.

Hobby Lobby.

Okay, so I ordered a digital painting for my boyfriend's birthday. It's 20"X20" So it's a pretty good size. The background of the photo is a light grey and it's a painting of a harley and a dog with the harley logo set behind them. I'm trying to decide the best way to frame it for him. I should probably mat it and then frame it, I'm guessing, but then I'm also wondering if it will make the print appear too large with the extra matting around the picture itself before the frame. Also, I don't really know the best place to get a good frame. I need to get what I need by around next Wednesday or Thursday, no later, so I just have to figure out what all I should get, what color, material, etc... I don't want to pay TOO much for a frame, though. I already paid quite a bit for the print and don't feel like I need to go overboard on the frame, haha.

Thanks!
