How to bid on Historic Home Restoration?

You should charge for cost of any and all materials, permits, inspections, and your usual going rate

for labor. Do not quote on this contract until you check with city codes and The Historical Society.

If it truly is an historic residence they may dictate what you can and cannot do or change to this

residence. It will be a nightmare for you and the owners right down to the allowed paint color. If this is the

case you would be better to walk away.

I am a young contractor looking for advice on how to bid on a historic residence for restoration.

Should i charge by; cost + fee of total restoration cost, cost + hourly fee, fee of appraisal value for house? And things of that matter.

As i am well informed about how "risky" taking on jobs other than new construction can be, for myself, this type of work is a good nitch .

Im located in Texas if location matter.

If you respond, I would be forever grateful

Thanks!
