How to make my bedroom look less childish?

Hanging better pics on the walls is a good start. Ask friends if they have some matching linens that they wouldn't mind giving up. These things may be old, but if they're in good condition & clean, your good to go. Try finding a vase in the house not being used and pick some flowers daily. There's always things in house not being used, so slowly relocate them until someone complains.

You can start with filtering stuff that you need and you don't need it. After that pick the right size of the furniture, do not fill your room with too many furniture. Last you can repaint your room with your favorite color, make sure you feel comfy with the color you choose.

I'm a 16 year old girl and I hate how my room looks. I mean, it's not that childish.. I have 2 walls a deep purple colour and 2 walls cream. The carpet is a cream/beige kind of colour. I have matching purple curtains, rug and cushions. I'm not bothered about the purple, I like the colour and I'm not aloud to paint or anything anyways.

However I think it looks childish because my bed has love hearts on the headboard and the one at the bottom which I hate but I've had it since I was younger. My parents don't plan on buying me a new bed anytime soon-.- I have cream bedding, brown furniture which I'm okay with except my bed doesn't match as it's white and I have a chest of draws which is really old and doesn't match the rest of my furniture.

I've cleared out my room but somehow the stuff on my bookcase just looks messy and childish.

Any ideas to make it seem more grown up? I was gonna stick pictures of me and friends up on the walls cuz they're pretty plain but idk.
