Anyway, when I was redecorating my room, furniture was the most important thing. Use just enough furniture to store what you need, because now looking back, I wish I had more space and less unnecessary drawers, etc.
After you've chosen your furniture, think about things that need to be fixed in your room. My closet door was broken, and I didn't like having a door on my closet in the first place, so I substituted a cute shower curtain.
Lastly, bedding is everything. It helps accent all the colors, and it sets the tone as you fall asleep. I would do some research online as to how color affects moods. I have found personally that green is very calming, while blue is actually relaxing, and black makes me feel the most secure.
Have fun redecorating!
My best advise is to make the expensive things the most neutral so you can change it up whenever you want to.
My living room is ocean themed and I used white walls and tan couches. Then I added blues and coral colors in using curtains, blankets and throw pillows. Lastly small nicknacks around the room like a starfish hung in a frame, a conch shell on the table and a dolphin statue by my lamp ties it all together.
If I had to or REALLY wanted to I could probably make it jungle themed for less then $50 dollars.
How do you decide? I finally have my chance to redo my room, but I can't decide what seems "right."
I'm on a bit of a budget.
I love whales, dolphins and the ocean.
In spite of that, I think that aqua or blue on walls looks out of place in a bedroom.
