During a hot and sunny day, place it in a black garbage bag and put under direct sun light for 8 hours. The temperature inside the bag will rise to 120F. This will kill many of the mold, germs, and bed bugs.
Correct about sun as one step,, but you probably need to wash, and if able right through, if bear does not have wire frame or glass,
If you have dry cleaners near by, you could asked themhow to clean, but dry cleaning would not be good until mold/mildew is removed,
You can try hand scrubbing with lite laundry detergent, or try spot clean with carpet fabric cleaner,
If hand srubbing does not work you may need bleach and destroy mold, but risk damage to color and material,
Try hand cleaning, and soak in sun light, sun may also bleach fade colour,

Hi there,
I own a very valuable teddy bear that I have had since birth- given to me by my grandparents. I have slept with it for about 20 years. I recently moved out, and placed the teddy at the side of my bed on hardwood floors. It was sitting there for about a month, and i picked it up today to find that it has some mouldy spots on it. I cannot handle the idea of tossing it in the garbage. Has any body had this problem before, or know how to remove these spots? Should I have it dry cleaned? Place in the sun?
Please help :(
