They don't need anything but food and water. Just throw some theft overs into whatever you are keeping it in and maybe a cup or plate with water in/on it. A good trap to catch the others would be to find a spot along a wall that has a downslope or a step. Get a bucket or something big enough to catch them all, and put the bucket along the downslope right next to the wall. Use a simple piece of wood and put that right up against the wall and put one end on the edge of the bucket. Mice are blind beyond about a foot in front of them so they like to run/walk right up against something that is constant, like a wall. and they will be attracted by any kind of bait or food you put down in the bucket so they will just walk along the wall, right onto the piece of wood and then right into the bucket. I think if you put the little guy you already caught in the bucket there may be some sort of communication between them and that may attract others to possibly come and help. But I have used peanut butter, apple, cheese, sunflower seeds, nuts, and just overall leftovers I didn't want to bait mice in the past, they will pretty much eat anything though. Give the trap at least a night to bait the mice and trap them and you should be almost mice-free after only one night. Just continue using the trap if the problem persists, or maybe move it to a new location. Its like trying to catch a leprechaun when you were a kid, you have to get creative when making traps, except you will actually see results when trying to catch mice.
The infestation of mice and cockroach in the kitchen are one of the worst things that can happen in your home. How can you safely solve your pest problems? The key is to be willing to ask questions, well like just what you did. You may also speak with a specialized team about it. Also, traps or bait stations can be used against some pests. Make sure that you choose safe pest control methods that will not harm the environment and the people that are living in the area.
You are doing no-one any favours by keeping live mice, they are rodent pests and must be eradicated. You will soon fall out with your neighbours if they discover you are harbouring pests.
