I need to get WiFi in a metal garage.?

You might have good luck with a Passive WiFi Repeater. The beauty of this approach is no electricity and no maintenance.

A quick search on the phrase turned up a couple of sites with decent DIY instructions.

Essentially, what you are doing is installing an antenna system with portions outside and inside the metal building. The outside portion receives the desired signal. The inside antenna re-radiates the signal to your devices in your apartment.

I've never used this method because long before decent wifi, I ran a CAT-5 cable from my house to my garage office and have a second wireless-capable router in the office.

Good luck and don't hesitate to write if you have unanswered questions.

Metal blocks wifi (it's a faraday cage)

Run a wire to the house and add a second access point inside the garage. Or put a wifi repeater in the window.

A "repeater", or "range extender" should do the trick. Set it up on the window sill. It needs electrical power, but no Ethernet cable.

It will pick up the signal from your house, and re-broadcast it inside your garage.

Get a better router.

Ok so I live in an apartment in my metal garage about 100 yards from my house. I can get Wifi directly outside my apartment usually two to three bars. and I can get wifi in while on the second floor of the garage (because there is a window facing my house.) So my question is using that window what is the best way to get the wifi in my apartment.
