Is buying a white comforter a good idea?

I've used white bedspreads and quilts on a regular basis, and never really had a problem. I don't have any pets or kids around, though. Once, I had a tiny blood stain on a quilt and I actually used some liquid whiteout (for paper) to cover it up, when it would not wash out. Good luck!!

As long as you're mainly just sleeping with it, and don't have pets getting up on it, or eating there, then you should go ahead and get one, if that's what you want. If you sleep in makeup, though, just don't pull it up to your face.

The white out idea sounds really smart!!

If you like white I think you should get it. If it gets stained you can buy a duvet to put the comforter in and change your color scheme as you like. White is bold!

Go for the white and enjoy it, no worries =)

Not a good idea if you have kids, dog or cat.

Go for it. It could really be nice for you.

I'm moving into my apartment in a month, so I want to get new bed things, including a comforter. I've been interested in getting a white one, then maybe colored sheets, otherwise just keep it all white. My reasoning is that if I get a stain on it, I can just bleach it without a worry. I told my mom and a few friends this idea and they have all said that it will look dirty easily (or something along those lines) because its white and everything will show up on it.

I'm really just using it to sleep, and I'm a pretty clean person, but they've pointed out that it might look discolored or something as it gets dirty? Has anyone had any experience with that? I've had patterned comforters all my life and I'm interested in just a plain white one so everything will match fine in my room and whatever.

Any ideas? Opinions? Thanks :)
