When a cactus has not been watered it looks dried up and it will be okay after it is watered real good. Then pour the water out of the tray.
Even a piece of dried cactus can be planted. When a broken piece of cactus is broken off, we let it dry about a week and then plant it.
well, it doesn't look good but it takes a freaking lot to kill a cactus. begin watering it daily until it comes back & then cut back to watering once a week.
you want to water it just enough to get the soil moist but still have it fairly dry by the next day.
Your cactus is probably dead as a door nail. I've cultivated cacti for more than 60 years.
Please try posting another link to your pictures--we can't log into your gmail account and see them. If your cactus is soft, mushy or falling over, it's probably done for. If it's still firm and just not doing anything, it may be ok--but you don't have to worry if you didn't water it for a while. That's one of the advantages of cactus--they dont' require a lot of water.
Hi guys,
It's a dumb question, but is my cactus dead? I still hope it's alive :( I took a picture of two cactuses that I have, one is alive, the another one is dead :( I couldn't water it for a while because I was moving out, and my old house was really cold.
