I'd recommend browsing Craigslist in your area if you feel comfortable doing that. There are some great deals on there! (Just make sure to bring someone with you when meeting up with a person on there for safety precautions). Hope that helps! Oh, and if you want some decor items, I have an online store you can browse :) http://www.zazzle.com/rusticharbor
Best Wishes!
Go to garage sales or yard sales and you can pick up a ton of stuff there. The dish pattern does not have to match, or the forks, knives, spoons, bottle opener, can opener(can be manual turn) I have an electric one someplace? These are things you can see are clean or dirty or broken.
Appliances is KISS and put the word out to your friends. Maybe someone has something you can have that still works.
blankets should be new or old stock but still in store. So nobody germed it.
Same for mattresses. New or nothing.
What do you need before you move out? A big wad of cash and your pants. I still want a bowling ball, but it can wait.
Beggars cannot be chosers. And you are moving out prior to winter so think warm clothes and shoes and mitties.
In order to rent an apartment - your monthly income MUST be 3-4 times more than the monthly rental amount. You will also need enough money for the first and last month's rent, deposit and key deposit.
You will also need a deposit to have your utilities turned on.

*** Just know that most landlords/property management companies (apartment complexes) require an additional pet deposit and pet rent (For example: Where I live, the pet deposit is $300.00 per dog or cat plus an additional $25.00 - $30.00 per month in pet rent) and that there may be breed restrictions for dogs.
Years ago, when I was preparing to move out on my own, I started my preparations almost a year in advance. I was working a slightly above minimum wage job and had other bills that needed to be covered each month in the meantime, so I knew I would need more time to gather the things I'd need. I made a master list of everything I would need for a one bedroom apartment, then checked the weekly store ads in order to get an idea of prices. I decided to set aside $15.00 to $20.00 from each paycheck for my purchases, which became my furnishings budget.
I think the first things I purchased were all of my cleaning supplies - including broom & dustpan and mop & bucket - from dollar stores. After that, I dealt with stores that had layaway programs: When I found things I would need at great prices I would pick them up and open the account, making the initial deposit and the first payment if I could at that time. When the final payment was made, I'd pick up my purchases and bring them home, storing everything in my closet. If you decided to go the layaway route, you will need to set some boundaries with yourself initially in order to prevent you from becoming financially over-extended. My rules were simple: Only one open account at a time and, while I had an active layaway account I would not make any other purchases from any other store until it was paid off. As you make purchases, use a highlighter to mark them off your master list.
Finally, do not be afraid to shop dollar stores or Big Lots. You can get just about everything at them these days including sheets, bedding, towels and home decor items as well as cleaning supplies and basic pantry staples. Shop thrift or consignment stores for our basic furniture needs like coffee/end tables, night stands, lamps (take a light bulb with you to test them to see if they work prior to puchasing) and to fill in your kitchen pots/pans/utensils basics.
I want to estimate how much money I should save up before moving out, so I'm making a list of all the little things. Dishes, appliances, blankets, curtains, etc. are all things that I'm looking for. So if you could list a bunch of little stuff that you needed to pack/buy before you moved out would be great! Thanks!
