Making a Penney Battery?

Direction of the electron are from anode to cathode and the acid is a medium to fasten the transferring electrons .

So each of the penny it produce 1 volt ,but you need to insulate each cavity for a pair of the penny and zinc, then that way you will get 1 volt from each cavity ,which total in the end will be 10 volt.

If you serial all in one solution without insulation between each set then result would be 1 volt.

Need to zinc and acid plate is required to voltage battery.

I was making a Penney battery and a one cell battery that I make makes just over half a volt but when I make a multi cell battery the voltage stay the same or lowers instead of increasing. My Penney Battery consists of pennies one side copper one side zinc with a piece of salt/vinegar soaked paper and another Penney and so on at the end of the series i put another penny with both sides copper on the top I did this with 10 pennies and got 1 volt.
