I microwaved some marinara sauce for 30 seconds, with some pizza. It was hot enough, but I microwaved another piece of pizza on the plate for another 30 seconds. Right before it was done, it sizzled and where the marinara was, a part of it burned a very small black hole through the paper plate.
I know things like this happen when you overcook popcorn, but with a paper plate? Is this normal? I'm now just concerned about safety issues. Could something be wrong with my microwave, or am I just being ridiculous?
