My NEW fridge smells like something is dead in it?

pull out the fridge and take the cardboard cover off the back. there might be something in there. otherwise check the drain pan on the bottom. sometimes water doesn't evaporate quickly enough and the water grows stagnant. if your fridge was shut tight and off before you moved in, it might have mold behind the crisper drawers. try some activated carbon-( found in the fish tank section at a pet store) in a old nylon in the crisper drawer and a box of baking soda to help deodorize it

It may not be the fridge, something may be dead and rotting in that part of the house. If it is a rodent, the smell should clear up in a few months.

Ok so we moved to a brand new house in December. Has new appliances & everything, and about 2 weeks ago we started noticing a HORRIBLE SMELL coming from it. So we threw out the old food that was in there (old lettuce, refried beans, vegetables) .. and the smell was still there.

So we removed some other things, that were still new but COULD have been causing the smell (one was canned dog food), if that makes sense.. and smell, still there.

So we took out EVERYthing and went grocery shopping to get ALL NEW things and this horrible rotting smell just BLASTS out of the fridge everytime we open it! It's clean, food is fresh (most of our food is frozen anyways) ...

ANY IDEAS? We can smell it when we come down the stairs sometimes. I think must be dead behind the fridge? But the house is brand new and we haven't seen any mice or rats since we've been here.
