Just shoo them out if you're that fraught about it. They're hardly the fiercest creatures. In fact they're probably doing little or no damage at all if they're just visiting, they could be doing you a favour in removing bugs, grubs etc.
Mind you, if it was here one might end up in the oven . . .
i don't see what problem is .....
i used to have DEER waking into my garden from the woods .... i didn't go out to shoot them
i personally wouldn't care if chickens were in my garden ... there not doing anything but having a day out ...whats your problem with PECKING ?
years ago ( before my time but seen the photo's and heard the stories ) ... people used to park there horses outside your house , and they used heard the cows up and down the street
family households used to own chickens in fields and they just roamed around .....
wouldn't bother me in the slightest , if this was the case now ...it would be like a FREE petting zoo
They will not do much damage until your garden puts out.Now they are doing you a favor the manure is great and they eat the bugs that eat your plants. But you must tell the owners they probably don't know their chickens are getting out. They will be happy to get them penned up again.
I don't understand the problem . Be different if it was hoodies in your yard !
My 'neighbours' live across the street but their chickens manage to get through the bushes and into our street.
i've seen around 2 pecking at my garden for the last couple of years but just recently I caught 6 in my drive. I don't know what to do. I informed them that they needed a proper fence and they said they will fix one (this was around 2 years ago) but that only lasted at best 6 months.
Now there's 6, it drives me crazy. The neighbours obviously don't give a damn. So what should I do?
My parents don't confront them but moan at me about it.
Could I 'accidently' run them down? Couldl I poison them? Should I take legal action?
