The landlord has the right to decline to rent an apartment to you. If the landlord says that they will rent to you only if your wife's name and signature are on the lease, then that's that. Move out.

wife has moved out and apartment states her name needs to be kept on. Last year a lawyer stated, no not since she moved out. Now I am going through it again. They want her name on it and or need to have my lawyer call them. It costs each time for the lawyer. Plus, they did not listen the last time.
