Ya know I have used the very fine cat litter (the stuff like sand) and it works wonders, really. The thing is to place it over your spills right away - oil or anything that harms porous surfaces.

Petrol being a spirit evaporates at worst it will leave a mark where it cleaned the stones. Now if it had been diesel that would be a different matter

Use cat litter and Dawn dish liquid- make sure that you remove any soil surrounding the patio as it is now chemically contaminated.

Yesterday I spilled alot of petrol on my concrete patio. I was in a hurry so I just hosed it down a little bit. This happened at about 5 yesterday. It is )20 pasr 12 now. Can I still wash it away with a hose. Or how do I get it off? Thanks
