Black garbage bags would be better and cheaper then foil You can put a white sheet on the outside window side White will reflect sun light vs foil which will heat up and retain it. If its sunny that is.

you can tape the bags on to hold in place Cut the bag seams to cover larger windows with less materials

Depends on the foil, the cheap ones makes the room pretty hot. Just go for a dark blanket ?

It would make the room dark, people use it in kids bedrooms in the summer so keep the light out. I would have thought the foil would reflect the heat away from the room, so make it cooler? But I'm not sure

Okay, so I am having a movie day with my friends and I want the room to be dark. So that means I would have to cover up the window. Someone told me that putting Tin Foil on the window would block out all of the sunlight. But what I am worried about is if it makes the room really hot.

- Would it make the room hot?

- Any other ideas to make the room dark?
