Seems a bit dark inside even during daytime. If u plan to keep the shutters then try loosing the curtain and change the lighting to something white and bright. As for the paint.. either wall or roof go for white. For some ideas visit:

Paint the walls a light color--an off-white with blue undertones, or a very pale blue color.

Ugh! Dark and gloomy, some rich warm color that is bright and sunny is the only thing I would want to see in there.

We're redoing our kitchen and need some suggestions. The rest of the kitchen is a bluish grey with black counters and white cabinets the flooring will( hopefully soon) be replaced with a brown pergo flooring. What painting and window treatment suggestions do you guys have? My mom wants to keep the shutters and molding.
