You can buy from the supermarket these containers that collect and fill up the moisture.
You just change them when they fill.
When you can leave your windows open for air to dry or use a fan.

It might be the carpet needs cleaned.
If the damp is contributing to the smell, you could use a dehumidifier to help dry the room out over time (use it with the windows and door closed). Scrub any visible mould off the walls or ceiling straight away with an abrasive sponge and disinfectant. You could try burning some strong smelling joss sticks in the room too.
My room always smells like sour like horrible and I have had new paint and carpet and it still hasn't changed, new bed, it's always clean I have candles and freshner windows open nothing helps I don't know what it is I wasn't in it for like a month and it's still the same but there is damp on one wall but that's only recently cos of a leak and it smelt b4
