Depends on where you are in the room in relation to the window, how thick the smoke is, and what color it is.
In a typical structure fire you can't see much of anything through the smoke.
It would shine through the smoke yes, but if your room was on fire I don't think the sunlight would assist you in escaping and you'd be better off looking for an exit.
