What your looking for is a plug in ceiling light fixture I got 100k results Here is a link to a stylish cheap one
You can hang it on a screw in plant hook to the ceiling then run the cord to nearest outlet. You can use staples or color match tape to hold the cord to the ceiling and wall And when you move out you would just have a small hole to Spackle.

You can buy really good LED lighting snakes now, which you can plug in to a socket and tie up across the ceiling. Or even cheap white LED christmas lights.
I was wondering if anyone could help me think of some for my bedroom, that would not be too expensive. It can get pretty dark in here, thanks.
