I think the brown is just part of the bloom that normally falls off. It doesn,t look like a disease or insect problem. Your yellowing leaves may just indicate the beginning of the end of the plant,s life. Your tomatoes look good, and if you have a lot of them, the plants may be about done. There is a disease that goes from the ground up, and discolors leaves. If this is the cause of your leaf discoloration, just remove all the affected leaves, and any leaves touching the ground. These leaves should be removed from the garden for disposal. Tomatoes love water. The hotter the days, the more you need to water. Try to be as consistent as you can with watering. It,ll help to stop blossom end rot.
Some of the beefsteak tomatoes I am growing have this brown coloration near the top part where the fruit joins the plant. Is this normal or not? If not then what could be causing this and what is the remedy. Only some tomatoes have this and rest seem to be okay.
Also do the tomato buds start yellowing and dropping if the daytime temperature is too high, like around 100F? Lower leaves are also yellowing a bit. How much should I water if the weather is extremely hot?
Thanks!
