Wasp nest in shed?

The nest is probably no longer active. There may be pupae in there but I would not worry about it. Next time consider giving it a shot of flying insect spray and then knock it down with a stick or broom. If it is a paper-nest type of wasp it should come down easy. If it is a mud dauber (sp.) that you may have to chisel it off but it may come down in one piece.

I'd agree it's probably abandoned now. For your peace of mind I'd make the effort to get at it and remove it then you know for certain. Here, I'd toss it into the paddock and the badgers will have dealt with any pupae by morning.

I went out to the shed this morning and found the beginnings of a wasp nest, only the size of a golf ball. They had stuck it to the roof. I went out with a bag and knocked it (intending it to go in the bag) but it dropped behind some paint cans in the back of the shed.

I only saw 2 wasps hanging around and the nest was very small and thin so I'm wondering if I can just leave it there? I can get behind there but it would take me hours to drag everything out. Guess what I'm asking is are there eggs in there already? Will the wasps still go back to it if it's on the floor?

Cheers.
