I think they are called 'spines' or 'binders'. However I haven't seen them about lately. Try Tesco Report Files you use clear wallets in them. Also in Tesco stationery aisle. All very cheap.
They go by a couple of names...plastic report covers or presentation covers is how I usually see them listed. Office Max and Office Depot carry them.
The "things" I refer to are used to bind or hold together several pieces of paper, perhaps in a presentation or a course.
It is sort of a plastic strip which is A4 length (or whatever size the paper is), and it holds the sheets by clipping them at the left hand edge, creating a booklet.
More often than not they are in clear plastic.
They can also be used to protect the edge of a saw.
I am looking for them on eBay but can't find them because I don't know what they are called exactly.
