What insect would this be?

These types of calls come in at our Fort Mill office all the time. In South Carolina it could be a carpet beetle, bedbug or a roach. Most good exterminators can idnetify easily.

See what happens when you squish first and ask questions later? You must rebuild it.

I found a bug on my carpet. It was kind of squooshed but I picked it up anyway to make sure it wasn't a roach or something. The way it was squooshed kind of made it resemble roach body but when I picked it up with gloves it kind of just crumbled all apart. I think the way all of the pieces, like legs and stuff her placed together made it resemble a roach body. But I don't think there was an actual body since everything just fell apart when I picked it up. What do you think? Just wanted to know other opinions to take preventive measures if it was a roach. Also it had a clearish piece of a wing. The bug was very damaged in the first place, but judging from it crumbling apart, do you think a roach body would crumble into a bunch of little pieces that way? Would it be more likely to be like a mosquito, gnat, or fly? thanks in advance for your opinion.
