What is the best way to soundproof a bedroom?

What you really need is a professionally designed system Go on line and look up soundproofing systems.

Things like egg crates will help with echoes but not deaden sound in terms of it leaving the room.

The frequencies generated by a drum set are the hardest to stop

You can use egg cartons put together. They do break up the sound and hardly cost anything.

Otherwise get an opinion from a professional who creates practice rooms. You can ask at a music or instrument store.

All the best.

So my new bedroom that will be in the basement is still under construction (not even finished framing yet) and I want to buy a drum set. I need to sound proof my room pretty well so that I don't have to worry about being heard throughout the house. I also have some really good speakers and want to buy better ones, so whatever I do I don't want it to ruin the sound quality within my room. In fact, if there is any way to increase the sound quality within the room and decrease the sound level outside of the room that would be great. I don't know much about how to do this so please tell me any tricks or information you know about how to do this on a moderate budget. Thanks!
